 Are you in the market for a new house?

 Will you be building? Have you considered an Eco Friendly home?house

 Energy Star is a National, Voluntary program developed by the EPA. The program promotes Energy Efficient Products. Energy Star Homes meet the EPA's guidelines and receive third party verification from accredited organizations.

 In addition to the Enviromental Gain aspect...ES construction will reduce monthly operating costs, increase home owner comfort and result in potentially higher resale value.

 Here in New Hampshire the Program is not only alive and well....but is growing!

 One program of mention is NHSaves.com. Their Mission Statement is "NH Saves is about people in New Hampshire doing the right thing-working together to save energy, reduce costs and protect the environment."

 With the increased Public Interest in the Environment and our contribution to it....more NH Builders have joined the program and are building Energy Saver Homes.magnifying

 When you are building your new home in order to achieve the Energy Star Rating it must go through a series of inspections at various phases.  RESNET (www.resnet.us) , the Residential Energy Services Network, boasts several New Hampshire Raters. These are the people who insure the compliance with standards that builders must follow. They are the people who give the "Rating". One whom I have found to be very helpful is Bruce Bennett.

Great post, Joan.  I wonder if people realize Going Green is not only less expensive, it's healthier for them!  Talk about an added incentive.

Sounds like an excellent program, Joan.  Wonderful and informative post;

~like Sally,  I notice this symbol on many appliances and electrical devices lately. Every bit helps towards saving this planet for future generations.

This is something that we all need to learn more about.  As the earth starts running out of resources we certainly need to do something that will leave a healthy place for the coming generations.  Thanks for another great post!

Hi Joan:  it looks like New Hampshire is getting greener and greener.  Sometimes it takes a while, but hopefully things will pick up here in the granite state -- perhaps we will go from grey to green!
