That is a quote that too many people tend to live by.

And I'll add to Randy's....but we don't.

It is in a sense true, not doing anything certainly makes life easier, although tortuous at the same time. I prefer to live and learn the hard way, by being out there where it is happening; yep, it's not always easy, however it is always a learning and growing experience.

As long as your friend doesn't back slide, he shoudl be OK - but keep an eye on him, just in case...
