This time in reverse order, Letterman style!  (A followup to 6 ½ reasons To Stage) bad decor

#6  You have a fabulous sense of style and know that your home doesn’t need staging.  The faux zebra pillows and bronze monkey chandeliers are the IN thing. <--

cool decor

#5 You are secretly afraid that you’ll like the way your home turned out so much you won’t want to sell it. -->

#4  You know that your home is ridiculously overpriced and that staging won’t make a difference. <--

 shout at agent

#3  You prefer to blame it on your real estate agent, you can always get a new one every 4 months or so. -->

throwing money away

#2 You’ve moved into your new house only to discover that you enjoy making two mortgage payments every month. <--

And the #1 Reason IS:

You are an old maid with 3 cats and you only have your house on the market because you are lonely and it’s the only way to get people to visit you. -->

OOPS, I almost forgot the ½!

Staging is the Fendi Bag of Real Estate. Its trendy, it’s cool and everyone in California is doing it.

Have a great day!

Hey wait a minute, I have those zebra pillow cases and I love them.  I could, however use the monkey chandelier.

Geri, you mean you don't have THE Monkey Chandelier?????  You gotta get one girlfriend!  They match with the zebra pattern nicely!

Jessica,

This is one of the funniest posts I've read in a long while. But not so funny that you don't lose the whole point. Excellently crafted!

Jessica, this was absolutely hilarious!!!  Thanks for the laugh.

Funny thing is... I recently showed a million dollar home where the owner had the tackiest sense of style I've ever seen in that price range and, among other things, actually had a zebra pattern faux painted ceiling in the master bathroom.  This was in a very nice, upscale gated community.  My client and I couldn't stop laughing!!!

Jessica!

After a few days of dragging my fluffy butt in and out of my behemoth with 4 wheels, in 100 + degree heat, canvasing and getting discouraged with one too many..."I'll give it some thought about it and let you know."

I read your post and thought (irreverently)...HEY..now HERE'S a novel approach, maybe I should try this!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU for giving me a reason to laugh so hard I almost fell off my chair and keep on going.
