It’s not quite the Phoenix rising from the ashes, or even Tiger Woods finally getting a birdie. It’s no where near Bill Clinton overcoming the stain of a brief encounter with a White House intern to become one of the most beloved ex-presidents of all time.

But there is little doubt that there are things happening in this city they call Regina (pronounced Ree-Jina for our American readers) that are placing a wake up call that this place is becoming a happening place.

For years and years, there was moaning and groaning about the sad state of downtown Regina (Ree-Jina for you folks in Arizona) where empty buildings and lots dotted the sour landscape. Nobody would go down there, they said, because there was nothing to go down there for.

But, now the ugly face of downtown Regina is undergoing a major remake. The results could be stunning. Victoria Park, the centerpiece of downtown Regina, is getting a whole new look. There will be a third tower to go with the twin towers now wrapped in Saskatchewan Roughrider 100th anniversary banners. At least two new high rise condos are in the plans. And old empty buildings, such as The Leader Post Building in the 1800 block of Hamilton, are being gutted and made over to welcome a dazzling array of new tenants.

Never mind that Mayor Pat Fiacco seems to take great delight in sitting in his rooftop office at City Hall and chuckling as he watches Regina drivers try to find their way through the maze that are the newly designed streets. Some day, he swears, people will rejoice over that.

And, it seems almost a sure deal that a $500-million domed stadium will be built where the railway tracks are behind Casino Regina. It will be the only dome between Toronto and Vancouver. And, don’t forget Harbour Landing, all the new houses and condos that are springing up throughout Regina and, of course, the massive food distribution hub that is rising from the prairie soil west of Regina.

The city is welcoming the new, and people are responding to all this electricity that is being generated. It’s no wonder EXIT Realty Fusion has risen to become a genuine force in the city’s real estate scene. Like all that is going on around them, EXIT Realty Fusion is new and brings with that newness an excitingly different and efficient way of selling or buying homes. EXIT Realty Fusion leads the league in innovation in the real estate industry. You can ask around.

And, then, there is the story of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Once the laughing stock of the Canadian Football League; the Riders have become Canada’s Team. They sell out every home game. They lead the nation in merchandise sales. They have played in two of the last three Grey Cups.

Another story of something old becoming something new is that of the Regina Red Sox of the Western Major Baseball League. They underwent a huge transformation half a dozen years ago. And, this year it is paying off. Playing an exciting brand of baseball by using a mix of young American players and local talent, the Red Sox made it to the league championship for the first time. And, crowds began to fill the quaint and relaxing Currie Field.

It’s a great time to be in Regina, and people from all over the world are sensing it. Because they are showing up here in droves where the lifestyle is the best you could imagine and the people are open and friendly. And, jobs are plentiful. And EXIT Realty Fusion is there to make the move all the more enjoyable.
