Ventura Keys Waterway
Many of you have probably never heard of the Ventua Keys and that's okay. Many Californians never have either. In fact, there are many people in the neighboring city of Santa Barbara who have yet to discover the Keys, as locals call the neighborhood. So what is so special about the Keys. Well, the water for one thing. There are three channels which lead into the Pacific Ocean. Imagine your sailboat or motor boat in your own backyard. Kayaking and paddle boards, or little electric boats to simply cruise up and down the channels. The neighborhood has 300 homes on the water with their own boat dock, another 300+ homes not on the water and with normal backyards, and approximately 150 duplexes. All the homes within short walking distance to the beach. The ideal city for those who love the outdoors, there are miles of bike paths along the ocean. The weather, mild and a little on the cool side, has little rain, some fog and some sunshine. The cool breeze blows gently through the palm trees which line the streets.
You're in the very charming coastal city of Ventura. It is conveniently located 25 minutes south of Santa Barbara and an hour north of Los Angeles. Ventura prides itself in its growing artist's community and developing downtown area. A stroll to the beach promenade, or looking through the new shops and dining at one of the many wonderful restaurants. More and more people are discovering the slower pace in this coastal city.
