It's the Market!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

Dealing with buyers and sellers in this current market takes courage.  Real courage and conviction.  Know your market and your skills.  With the several changes in the banking regulations, and the time period to close a home, you need to take this into account when you are sitting with your buyers or sellers.

Their expectations, may still be, that they will find a home quickly or that if they are the seller, that it will sell quickly.  Once in awhile, this could still happen.  But, it is not the average transaction.  The average transaction will take more than 60 days for a buyer and more than 6 months for a seller (from listing date)to close on his home.

Your clients can try to convince you otherwise, but, you are the professional.  Listen to your gut, your market, not their opinions or ideas.  Be the professional.

Winners do win!  Help your clients be the winners of the real estate transaction.  Be honest with them and stay tuned in to the daily market.  They may not like you for being honest, but, they will respect you for your professionalism.

Fran I have found that so many agents are afraid of loosing their clients.  They don't understand that its their job to BE the professional and take charge.  Be the Alpha agent!  Your clients hired a professional and expect expert advice.  If you take on the role of a wimp you will loose their respect and they eventually find someone else to help them with their real estate needs.

Great post Fran!

Thank you:)  I find that if you have a client that doesn't listen to you, you need to part company.
