Today we decided to do a class on how to write a blog on Active Rain. We had quite a few Tallahassee Real Estate Professionals in attendance. The class was taught by a Relative Newbie to Active Rain, but it was mostly affective anyway.

 Tallahassee Real Estate Training Class

Our goal was to get more of The Best Real Estate Agents in Tallahassee blogging on Active Rain. Some Great Agents (see above) were really excited to be here, yet other Tallahassee Realtors were not so excited (see below).

Sell a home in Tallahassee

The training covered how to post a blog (this was the actual blog created in the class) and how to take advantage of all the different tools that Active Rain has to offer.

So, in Summary, here is What was Covered in the Tallahassee Real Estate Training Class:

Step 1: Click on the "post" tool to begin your new blog post.

Step 2: Make sure you Tantalize with the Headline and Tag it for Successful Hunting!

Tallahassee Real Estate Champions

Step 3: Make it for Public View and send it to 5 Groups.

Step 4: Post it to Localism!

Localism Tallahassee

Step 5: Review and edit it for spelling and punctuation. Also, add as many keywords without getting to "Spammy." Click on Real Estate Broker in Tallahassee

Sorry for the typo in the Headline, should read "Realtor Diets" as none of us were eating during the training class.

Joe,

Great post of how to write a post. I'm cursious to see if there are any companies out there that have the majority of their agents blogging on AR?

Anyone out there?

thanks,

Dave

Hey wait, wasn't it your idea for that title?
1:00pm • #26

I GUESS that your title was PERHAPS better than some of the other wonderfully dynamic and original suggestions given by your faithful attendees...

What program are you using to edit your images?  Love the circles used to accentuate the areas of interest.

Joe, I hate to admit it, but I used the stock "Paint" program that comes with windows... Pretty high tech, huh?

Well, I thought your Headline was a scream and then I almost fell out of my office chair laughing when I got to the bottom and you said it was a typo...it should've read "Diets"!?  Hilarious!  Reallty though, I'm new to AR and I'm just learning to blog so I found the post useful as well.  I still don't get the difference between a tag and a keyword though ...glad I'd already submitted my 1st post before I discovered I COULD DIE TRYING! i might never have tried it!!!!  Gosh, I was living on the edge and didn't know it!

While I am no expert, I believe Keywords are placed throughout the blog. These are the words that you think people will be typing into search engines looking for something on your topic. Tags on the otherhand, are used to categorize your blog, so when you have tens and hundreds of them, you can sort for a specific tag (or grouping).

Joe - Its about the 2 second response time I just moved from one group to another and you had already responded. I find it interesting that some bloggers appear to never respond while some respond after so many posts and still others seem to live here and respond immediately

What a way to attract people to read your blog.  Way to go.  I'm definitely glad nobody died.  That great that you helped other agents in your area to blog.  It's a bit intimidating at first.
