What do you mean that you are appealing to a more Artistic Client

By
Home Stager with Stage-Show-Sell

I thought that I would beat my head against a wall last week and approached a realtor with my staging and photographic skills.

Our prices are very reasonable and we are very good at what we do.  She was amazed at the job of a condo transformation that she has listed.   She thought the photos and virtual tour were great.  Yet she will not allow me to talk to any of her other clients.

She said that she likes her photos and the way the houses look.  She is appealing to a more Artistic Client (buyer)

Why wouldn't she try to appeal almost everyone instead of the few who might find these artistic?

This is her photos on the MLS of a bathroom

The internet presence is so important.  Why would a realtor not let me talk to their clients and explain what I can do for them and the internet presence that I can give them?

I use the furniture that the owner has and add a few of my own things to kick it up a notch.  I take the photos, add them to the MLS if the agents allows me to and do a virtual tour.

The homes and condos that Stage-Show-Sell, LLC stage generally get offer in 2 to 3 weeks.

These homes have been on the market a long time AND have had price reductions.   Staging is so much cheaper that the first price reductions.

Artistic or?

Sellers talk to a stager before you list your home OR if you have been on the market for awhile without an offer.

Virginia, you've shown us some great  before and after photos.  Keep up the great work.  By the way... I see from the spelling of one of the words in your title, that you are trying to keep us abreast of the latest in staging.  Great job.

Hello Virginia:

Sounds like a battle of egos rather than a business discussion.  Perhaps the agent is threatenedby your expertise.  Proving the agent is inferior to you is not a win win for her.  Find a way she can win too and you might make some headway.

Hi Virginia - you did a great job! Just keep doing what you are doing. The realtor sounds like she had to pull an adjective out of thin air to justify her unwillingness to help you market to her other clients.

Carolyn - that just cracked me up! I love a good pun lol

Delisa, Of course I do an incredible job.  That's why this is so frustrating.

Carolyn,   Thaks for pointing out that my brain and my fingers don't co-operate.

Rugg,  I'll have to look at it from that perspective.   She and I could make a great team IF

Tessa, no she's serious about her artistic photos.  I'll have to pull more out of the MLS to show you.

Janice,  I have to try, about once a month, to convert a realtor into a believer.  I'm done for August.  Now I'll wait for September

Virgina --some folks just don't get it.  The best thing is to move on and say "next!" because you know that you have a skill that will help sellers (the ones who are smart enough to hire you).

Virginia- You can't win them all.  You did a great job.  The Realtor either didn't get it, or may have felt threatened.  As Maureen said, "next"!

Cathy Lee,

yes I just keep on trucking.   It's so frustrating to know that I can help sellers IF they knew about me.

Maureen, you are right - next.

Guess that's why I approach only one realtor a month.

Maybe next month I'll go door knocking on Sellers Homes :-)

Gail, I will say that she is an expert on selling her listings.  I'm a lot better a getting them ready and showing them off on the MLS.

These photos are the ones she has currently listed and similiar ones of those that I've photographed.

Kathy, Next is right.   Except she called me this week and said maybe I was right.   Maybe her photos aren't showing the houses in the best light.

Ginger,  I think I agree with you to a point.   She called this week and mentioned she has to find a way ??? to get me into the houses.   That's a step in the right direction.
