30 Day Challenge Day 1/Module 2. Today, we start the process of getting ready to create our first non-activerain website. There are two lessons that cover what makes a good domain name and how to get the right domain name, how to get hosting for that domain name, as well as introduce you to the free service you'll be using to setup your first site.
In video 1 you will learn what domain names are and understand what makes a good domain name. Most importantly you will get tips on how to avoid traps people make when choosing their domain name. Also highlighted is why choosing a domain name that features your theme keyword phrase is so critical.
The 2nd video shows you how to use the Market Samurai Domains Module to research domain names that fit with your theme keyword phrase for your chosen micro-niche, and then actually go and acquire that domain name with hosting that you can use for your first site. This is the part of The Challenge process that people can find quite daunting. Kenny takes you through the process step by step, showing you just how easy it is.
Following on from acquiring your domain and hosting, Marty Rozmanith introduces you to the service Wordpress Direct (WPD) and outlines some of the benefits of using WPD when it comes time to installing your first blog. Wordpress Direct allows you to setup an SEO optimized blog straight out of the box, with a set of plugins that will give your site the best possible chance to succeed. Marty outlines what WPD does, some of the many updates to WPD for 2010 for those that have used the service in the past, and then a brief tour of WPD itself. ( I should note that I don't personally use WordPress Direct but am including it here because it's part of the free training)
After the tour of Wordpress Direct (WPD), Marty shows you how to sign up for your free trial WPD account ready for the rest of Module 2. Marty walks you through the steps, outlines what your available options are, and explains how the free trial account works.
