BP Oil Effects on Clearwater Beach Florida: Part 1 of 3

I receive numerous email inquiries about the effects that BP oil has on Clearwater Beach, Florida. Some visitors ask me if they should bother coming to Clearwater Beach for their planned vacation.

As of Sunday August 15, 2010 there are no visible tar balls on the shores of Clearwater Beach Florida near Pier 60 so if you planned to come to Clearwater Beach, Florida for vacation or thinking about going on vacation to Florida in the near future Clearwater Beach Florida is unscathed as of Sunday August 15, 2010:

I just had a friend visit Florida with no problems at all. Never believe what you read in the papers

My favorite beach in Florida! My husband & I love visiting Florida every year, often for 3 wks at a time. My son had his wedding there last year, it was beautiful. (and all family members were from Ohio, made the trip there). I'm so glad that the tar balls & debris are not effecting this beach.

It is amazing from what we have all seen on the news about the amount of oil spewed into the ocean that the clean up has been so effective.  You have to give props.

Thanks for the short video. Brings back memories. Looks like the afternoon thunderstorms are about there.

Glad to hear that the oil spill has not affected the shores of Clearwater, FL.  It definitely could have been a lot worse than it was, though it didn't seem like it at the time.
