BP Oil Effects on Clearwater Beach Florida: Part 2 of 3

I receive numerous email inquiries about the effects that BP oil has on Clearwater Beach, Florida. Some visitors ask me if they should bother coming to Clearwater Beach for their planned vacation.

As of Sunday August 15, 2010 there are no visible tar balls on the shores of Clearwater Beach Florida near Pier 60. Fortunately so far Clearwater Beach Florida is unscathed as of Sunday August 15, 2010.

Here is Part 2 of a three-part video series:

See you at the beach :)

Lana - I am on the west coast and when I was a kid, about 5 or 6, I remember the oil spill we had below Santa Barbara. I know it was a very long time before clean-up. We used to camp on the beach and the residual was there for years.

Present day it sounds like the after effects are not bad at all. It is good to hear you don't have a lot.

I had so much fun on the Clearwater area beaches when I worked in Tampa back in 1994. Glad to hear that the oil spill apparently didn't make it that far east.

Lana - Good to hear about the lack of oil. Hope all is well with you because we haven't heard from you in 11 days. Waiting on part 3.
