Not only was Dawsonville, Georgia the original home of NASCAR, but Dawsonville also played a major part in the distribution of Moonshine during prohibition. Dawsonville served as a major pathway for 'Moonshine Runners'. This annual celebration is to commemorate this long ago era in American history.
