I have been doing this for over 14 years now. Helping those to finance their new dream, may it be purchasing that new home or refinancing their current home for several reasons. Even helping those investors that want to add to their portfolio.

I have talked to several of you on the phone from Active Rain and overall, I just love Active Rain. The continuous networking, a great Team (Caleb & Matt) that keeps this site active and improving daily, great people on here with great ideas, and just to be able to express yourself and feel like you have friends all over. But you need to be able to keep an open mind when you put yourself out there. You have to be able to take any type of criticism, good or bad, and use it as a positve footnote in your life and in your business.
What I wanted to share with everyone is that throughout the week, many of us have our good days and our bad days. But nothing can be better when not only a client gives you a compliment, but tells you that they want to be your client for life. Sometimes, because of the job that I do for my clients, you would think this would happen more than often. And then you step back and realize; why doesn’t this happen to me more often. I give more than 110% to all of my clients, I give them sound advice, I am honest and sincere, I steer them in the right direction while not worrying about the money that I will make on them, and that I am accessible 24/7.
Life throws us many curves balls…… but keep swinging for the fence. Stay positive….keep helping those that ask for your help or need your help. And it does come back to you. I read a blog that Bryant Tutas(aka Broker Bryant) wrote earlier this evening. Real Estate is about people, not money! Part 2 I have been thinking about this for several months, even years, prior to reading this. And what many of us have to do is, “move forward.” Sound familiar Bryant? Seriously though, we can’t keep thinking of why others in our industries do what they do. It comes down to them and the money, not the client. I lose clients all the time because they are promised something that just won’t happen. Bryant even gave an example of this in his blog. This brings me to the joy that I receive when a client actually acknowledges what you have done for them. I copied what a client sent to me in an e-mail and I have used it as one of my testimonials.
Here is part of that e-mail that I received last week. And this is a client that I have never met before. Our first conversation was on the phone for 2 1/2 hours on a Friday night, ending at 1am in the morning.
"As a professional real estate investor and a private homeowner, Jeff has been absolutely terrific to work with. It’s funny because when I first met Jeff, he told me to talk to as many other brokers as I could. “But,” he said, “you will come back to me because I will tell you the truth the first time and let you know reality, not some pie in the sky numbers just to get your business.” He was spot on! Recently, I was working with another investor on a large deal who was persuading me to work with his broker and I kept hearing in the back of my mind, “call Jeff, he’ll tell you what you can do with this.” Instead, I followed the other investor and tried to work with his broker who supposedly “did these types of deals.” We ended up losing the deal—talking with Jeff first (I found out after it was too late) would have been the single best thing we could have done because we would have been the first, best offer. I don’t only work with Jeff on my investments (but that alone should tell you a lot), I also work with him on the personal property that I own and in which my family and I live. He has access to so many different loan programs out there that he found us the VERY BEST options available to us when we decided to refinance. I know this probably sounds too glowing, but I have never worked with someone who was willing to talk with me about what I was trying to accomplish and to help solve my problems at nearly any time of the day or night. Jeff has my business for life! "

Isn't this what it's all about?
Hello Jeff, love the post. I think this might have been the person that you were going to call after we got off the phone. Anyway, this is the best compliment we could ever get.
I work with an investor who told me a couple months back that she would not trust anyone else to handle her mortgages. She now has me listed on over 250 contracts as a preferred lender. I have anyother client that is the same way. I haven't even closed a loan for him (we met about a year ago). Him and his wife have become more of a friend then a client actually. We're always doing something, I have sponsored his kids with class trips and he has sent me 2 referrals. Pretty good for not closing a loan huh.
I hope you get a million more compliments like this, you deserve it.
