Mueller PoolThe Pool at Mueller is one of the best kept secrets of the airport development, which was so oversubscribed at the initial home selling phase that there were literally lotteries to figure out who could buy a home.

The development has been inhabited for over two and a half years now, and one of the smartest things the developers did was to open the Ella Wooten pool by the first summer - one of the hottest and driest summers in recent Austin history.

The secret to the pool is that it is actually open to the public in open swim times. It's not mentioned on the City of Austin pools and parks site, but it does maintain lifeguards for the same season as other Class B pools (open to the public with supervised swimming).

The pools is well equipped - parking is onstreet around the neighborhood, and the gated pool has a small fee for non-residents. There are two changing rooms, each with hot showers, and there are two pools. The smaller is a shallow pool up to 18 inches deep, and the larger is the deeper lap pool, which is over 8 feet deep in the lanes section. There are large shade umbrellas along the pool side which separates the two pools, so you can stay cool and relax while enjoying the balmy weather.
