If you're relocating to Edwardsville or any of St. Louis' Illinois suburbs, chances are you'll need to make a few visits while you're viewing properties and getting to know our region.
For those of you considering the Edwardsville or Glen Carbon areas, this post will give you three lodging options and links to the properties. You can establish your base camp at one of these three hotels while you search homes for sale.
HAMPTON IN & SUITES -- The newest of the three hotels listed here, it is located at the IL-157 exit just south of I-270, a perfect spot for someone who might be commuting to the new job and searching for homes. Hampton Inns are known for their comfy Hampton Bed, a morning breakfast buffet and a grab and go breakfast bag for those who are too busy to stop.
COMFORT INN -- Located on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River bottomland and the St. Louis skyline in the distance, this is the oldest of the three properties, but it has been renovated and re-branded several times and includes conference rooms. Music buffs will be interested to note that musician Jackson Browne recorded some of the tracks from his "Running on Empty" album at the hotel when it was a Holiday Inn many years ago. He and his band had finished a late night at the famed Mississippi River Festival at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) when they headed back to the hotel, set up the recording equipment and the rest is music history.
COUNTRY HEARTH INN & SUITES -- It's not in the country, but it does have a hearth and a great position along IL-157 (Old Route 66) in Edwardsville IL next to the Edwardsville Sonic and within a 
quick dash of Edwardsville High School. This is the hotel closest to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) and the SIUE Business Park. It also is closest to downtown Edwardsville and the Madison County courthouse and government offices.
