If you are like the average Moses Lake, Wa 1st time home buyer, you either don't have a clue what your credit looks like, or you know it is bad, just not how bad. You nay be one of those who knows what their score is, know it is great and feel confident you will qualify to purchase a home. If that is the case..........CONGRATULATIONS! You are a giant step ahead of the game and you can probably skip this step.
So now for the rest of us average Joe's. The first thing to remember is, if you have made mistakes in the past, they are in the past. You still have to deal with the consequences of them, but today is a new day. No "If I would haves" allowed here.

No credit is not a bad thing, but it is not a good thing either. Lenders want to know your history of payments. They want to know they can trust you with their money.
Now what? You either have no credit or not so great credit. I am not a credit expert, my expertise is in real estate. Be sure and ask if they are non-profit! If they are, they have no ulterior motive and they can look up your scores on all three of the top reporting agencies without it showing a negative on your reports.
