Venetian Palace in Sarasota!

This unbelievably beautiful structure is the Ca d'Zan Mansion (The House of John) in Sarasota, Florida. Having travelled throughout Europe and fallen in love with Venetian Gothic architecture, John and Mable Ringling (of Ringling Brothers Circus fame) commissioned New York architect Dwight James Baum to construct this masterpiece right here in Sarasota!!!

Construction was completed in 1926 and the Ringling home soon became the cultural center of Sarasota life complete with boats landing directly in front of this bay front marvel! Today this museum is open to the public and should definitely be on your list of things to see in Sarasota!!!!
