Your Blog Can Yield Personal Satisfaction and Also "The Expertise Connection"

Passion for Writing Usually Shows

I know that there is a level of personal satisfaction we get from writing our blog posts but there can also be a number of side benefits that we also receive.

While the list of benefits will vary with the article as well as the writer, there are some things of course that stand out as a common denominator for all of us that have a level of discipline to regularly write articles or as we refer to them as our blog posts.  The first benefit which would be the degree of expertise that is gained from the research we engage in as do our writing. A topic, a word defined, a location or community, we do this so much that we are not even aware of all the knowledge we are acquiring.

A good example might be an article  about "The Process Involved in Buying a Home ”. Why did we write it when hundreds if not thousands of others already did it? It is simple. What we write about we take custody of. Sort of like studying for a test on a subject that we have a lot of interest in. As we begin the mastery phase and take the exam, we have an increased level of expertise in the subject. We in a way, wrote the book on the subject.

This higher level of expertise then translates directly to the way we handle that subject with our clients or even in general discussions. Once we have written it, our new clients will benefit by the research and refinements we put in the article. We then can take custody for what we have written about. We become more organized on the subject and also more passionate on the benefits the client will receive with the new information. We are stronger and we are more confident. We are the acknowledged author of the information.

Another benefit would be that the more accomplished we become as a writer, the more we are validated by our peers in their comments to us. We are not only working with clients with a new level of confidence but it also establishes for us a level of expertise, personal satisfaction and that can rightfully lead to what becomes our passion for writing.

Expertise and self satisfaction are two kernels of passion. We are more likley to be passionate about something if we are successful at. This doesn’t though always take place in this order. The passion could have come first and if we recognized it and continue to grow with it. And importantly it can be quite satisfying as well as to improve  our success. The order is not the important part. It is more that the passion should actually takes place in our lives at some level about something. Hopefully if you are going to stay with blogging, the interest in writing and communicating effectively becomes one of them ( passion).

The “Expertise Connection” can and likely will come additionally to you as a result of our blogging posts. We connect easily with our peers here in the Rain but we are also focused on connecting with those shadows of consumers that we know are out there but who often prefer to remain hidden until they are ready. When one surfaces with an inquiry about something we have written or because they like our overall on-line personality, the Expertise Connection is well on it’s way to being formed.  The more we have these interactions or connections along the way, we gain even more confidence and more success which drives and enlivens the passion even more.

When your blogging becomes a passion, your peers and other readers will inspire you to continue to build the underlying foundation of your writing with you gaining the Expertise. What you know is very valuable but what you can learn to successfully communicate, becomes priceless as the "Expertise Connection".

Thanks, Jeff.  I commented on William's post as well.  Sometimes we just have to give some thought process to what we are saying.  I like his premise and will try to incorporate that into my own "work".
