hmm... Frankly my clients will fire me if I stage their homes with these cardboard boxes. Although pushes come to shove, if the sellers are really strapped for cash, I suppose I can stage with cardboard furniture. But not at this price tag! I can just paint the cardboard myself, which I have seen Roger on "Sell This House" did for one of the homes where they were really strapped for cash. He painted all the cardboard boxes white and made furniture for the home...

What are your 2 cents? Would you find a staged home with cardboard furniture appealing to you?

I actually saw on one of the home staging shows that they made furniture out of cardboard boxes and painted it white! It looked awful, I think that cardboard furniture (home-made or from a store) it a definate STAGING NOT!

Cindy, I agree with Lucie. I would not consider the cardboard furniture under any circumstances. First of all, it looks extremely cold to me, and I cannot imagine any scenario that is would be suited for. Just my opinion..

I might ,might use a bed because your going to cover it up with a very savvy bed covering, but other then that I don't think I would use it.

you should talk to Terry H because I think she was going to try them out to see if they were any good.

It's a look...very Vern Yip. At least you can sit in LAWN CHAIRS - "The Other White Furniture"! How about inflatables? They're available in claer and lively colors too! Seriously, one of the goals of successful staging is to get potential buyers to linger, to revisit rooms and spend time in the house. If they can't sit down, they'll leave!

Where you been, girl - Terry Haugen did a whole thing on this and got over 90 comments, including one from Craig, who rarely comments on anything!

Yeah Cindy, where ya bean? Actually I've gotten over 100 comments on this. Some negative, most positive. I ordered a sofa, which should arrive next week. I will then attempt to "upholster" said sofa to make it look as close to the real thing as possible. Portability is the name of the game here as far as I'm concerned. Keep an eye out in the next few weeks for my before and after post.

I believe warming up spaces is important. I think the fake furniture looks very fake. Can't see using it myself. Sorry Cindy, I would rather use only a few choice pieces than use cardboard. A TV or computer I think is ok.

It looks stark and cold not warm and inviting. I think kids would start to play with it and maybe run to the car and get there crayons. the tv and computer ok and bed that could be covered up with great bedding other than that i might by the couch for my kids bonus room. They would have a blast with it

What an awesome idea! Fake furniture? With a little creativity a vacant house can have seem like an inviting, cozy/spacious, comfortable home. I like the idea and will keep it in mind for those vacant homes. Thanks

I think these would be great for watching football games on Thanksgiving Day.

This is so funny and Val and I were talking about this awhile ago saying someone should come up with collapsable furniture. Guess they did. Years ago my girlfriends son use to make his own furniture out ob cardboard and we laugh about that until this day. He is now married with 4 kids and I can assure you that their furniture is the real deal.

I would not use it. We are suppose to make our clients homes look rich and inviting, this is over the top. It does not look so awful in the pics tho, I must admit.
