Showing Property on an August Day: How Many Weight Watchers Heavy Exercise Points?

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

I am now into Week 3 of adventures at Weight Watchers - and so far I'm down about seven pounds.

These days, they have you counting "points", with each food having a certain value.  And I'm only allowed 24-points per day and an extra 35 "cheat points" for the week.

Then exercise has a certain number of points, depending upon how long you do it and how long whatever you are doing takes to make you sweat.

So here' the thing.  Tonight I have my book group.  There are six of us and each one brings something delicious to eat.  To stay withing my allowance, I need to accumulate about five or so extra exercise points.

I just previewed a couple of houses, both with the air conditioning not on.  They are here in my neighborhood, so I walked.  I began to sweat rather profusely the second I walked out the door.  Each house was three levels and an attic, to that was like being on that stair stepper contraption.  By the time I left House Number 2 and walked home again, I was soaking wet.  The whole thing took about half an hour.

It counts as a "high" activity level if I break out into a sweat after 3 to 5 minutes.  Sounds good to me.  And it lasted for 30 minutes.  So it should give me an extra 5 points.

This will be good for about 12 ounces of wine, or a lot of veggies dipped into something fat free.

Geeze!  I'd better head for the gym!

Oh, my friend, you definitely earned a few extra exercise points!  Good for you on the Weight Watchers - I have heard it is the absolutel best program around - and it really isn't a program as much as rethinking how you eat and portion control!  GO PAT!!!!

Pat, Good for you!  I went on nutri systems. I lost weight then gained half back. I forgot to cancel the auto nutri system even though I went back to eating normal food. It keeps coming every month. LOL So I use the nutri system meals for snacks since the meals are so small.

Pat, don't you dare go for the dessert.  You're doing great, but once you fall off the bandwagon, it's hard to get back on again (unless of coarse desserts are not your thing).  Treat yourself to a cool refrersing low calorie treat and fruit concontion, or better yet, to a new top that shows off you're improved figure.  Just my two cents.

I think my listing appointment tonight would count as heavy exercise if the rule is you are sweating after 3-5 minutes.  It was a tough crowd.

Who knew being a Realtor was one of the best Cardio Boosters on the market !

I have shown 10 homes in a day on weekends over these past few months, so at 100 degrees on the East Coast, I can relate !!!!!

Pat --You are too funny!  Definitely can relate to the sweat---I think Washington and Indiana humidity are about equal.  Weight Watchers is a great program---I think it has the best success rate of any program.  Good luck!!!

Home is where the hearth is.

I can't tell you how many vacant foreclosure 3-flats I showed last year... and by the 10th in the same miserable humid summer day, I'd say to the client "you walk up to the third (or fourth) floor... and let me know what you think"... "I'll (gasp) sit over here a spell"... and plop my sorry out-of-shape ass on the bottom step.

Pat,

Seven pounds is a great accomplishment. As far as the heat and humidity, keep going forward, just make sure to hydrate.

Pat - I agree with Scott that 7 pounds is great!!! I need to start doing something too - I re-started working out again - 1/2 hour in front of my notebook with some Netflix film playing so I don't go crazy. The neat thing is that Netflix remembers where I left off so I can continue the film the following day!!!

Beth,so far, I'm down 20 with a bunch more to go.  It's a good program, and with the changes it is quite easy to stick with.  Maybe it's time for another post!
