For three years in a row we had a flock of these giant turkey vultures that roosted in our yard.  More than once, our cars, if left outside, were painted solid white by them.  I don't mean just spots, I mean you couldn't find a one-inch spot that wasn't covered.  We were told by the Fish and Game Dept that we are not allowed to harm them in any way, so we had to make loud noises to scare them every time they landed in our trees.

I took a picture one time that had 36 of them in the photo.  They are beautiful flyers though - very graceful.  I'm just grateful that they have now chosen someone else's trees to spend their time in.

Russel -

Don't worry.  There's a little buzzard in all of us.

Russel, Is the vulture from the San Diego Zoo?

Steve

Hey, Sheldon - I didn't think the British were ever at a loss for words. LOL

Hey, Deborah - Everybody loves somebody!

Hey, Ally - Not even one word? LOL

Hey, Lee and Pamela - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. LOL

Hey, Wanda - A good mom creates a good child.

Hey, Tony and Darcy - I'd love to see one out in the wild. That would be so cool.

Hey, Sharon - I noticed the collar, too.

Hey, Susan - If you are ever lucky enough to get turkey vultures to nest in your yard, well, you are one unlucky person! LOL

Hey, Jim - Too true.

Hey, Steve - This is a California Condor. The Zoo has three adults and two immature birds, and the Wild Animal Park also has four or five. I think they are magnificent birds, a little ugly, yes, but magnificent nonetheless.

Russel, that is the proof that beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. In this case his mother.
