Homegrown House
By: Janet Wong

This is a cute little story yarns a tale of a young girl who's moved several times in her short life, but yearns to live in and love a home for a long time.

If you have little ones that are tired of looking at homes and the whole moving process this tale is a wonderful way to encourage children of the reasons to hang on until moving day arrives.

Dealing with the complexities of moving often, finding a home to learn to love, and the hardships of dreaming and wanting...

This book covers many common issues.

At the same time this book covers the love of a grandmother who is teaching her granddaughter what it is to cherish what you have and to hope for what it will become.

In the end you leave the girl dreaming of a fishy pool and
planning to make her new house her home.

It's not always easy for the young ones to understand a parent's needs and reasons for moving.
I love the idea that books can help them to understand a little better.

I hope that you enjoy this book as much as we have and that it helps in your discussions with your little ones about moving.

Joni - If you are reading it to the kids... I'd say 5-8. The girl has passed through the first two years of school for sure. My kids loved hearing it and they are 3 and 4, but I read them chapter books so they are a hard guage.

Dan - If you liked this then check out my blog with all my book reviews! The list is always growing.
