I was just answering a comment and I realized I need to write a blog about why I love my job.
My job: Real estate broker, agent, consultant, business owner, trainer, negotiator, psychoanalyst?
Yes, I wear many hats. It can be a challenge getting all this work done and in a timely fashion. Everything in real estate revolves around deadlines. So some days are very hectic. Most of mine are but there is never room for boredom. That is one of the reasons I love my job.
Meeting people. Clients, customers, lenders, title people, insurers, inspectors, builders, contractors, advertising salespeople and the list goes on. Real estate is a great job to have if you like meeting people.
Knowing people. This is more than meeting folks, this is getting to know them personally. Sometimes very personally, as in financially. Knowing what their dreams are, knowing what they do , what they want, what they can do, knowing their families and friends. Becoming close and helping them in every way possible. Bearing burdens, coming up with ideas, creating ways to help.
Putting the deals together. Connecting buyers and sellers and helping each to realize their dreams. Making all the figures work out, hitting the deadlines, making the impossible, possible.
Handing over the keys. What a great time this is. To hand someone the keys to their new home. Seeing their faces light up and their smiles widen. Knowing their lives will be changed forever. New neighborhoods, new friends, new opportunities and I had a part in the change in their lives. This feeling is euphoric and I never get tired of being there when the final paper is signed. I love taking their picture and giving it back as a keepsake of the moment.
Going home after a long day and knowing I did something good today! IT'S A GOOD FEELING!
