For those agents wanting a more versatile higher end DSLR camera that also shoots fantastic video you may want to consider the Canon T2i. Below is an overview of the camera and below that is some actual video tours shot in Manhattan using the T2i. It is important to note that these tours were the agents first using the T2i and also that the file sizes generated by the Canon T2i are quite large when compared with other video cameras such as the Sony HX-1 or Kodak Zi8.

CANON T2i OVERVIEW:

CANON T2i Sample Video - One of this agents first real estate videos and use of the Canon T2i.

T2i Pros and Cons:
Pro
*60+ lens to choose from
*Comes standard with a 18mm wide lens
*Very versatile for both HD video and photography
*Priced low for a Digital DSLR

Cons
*File sizes are quite large so be sure if transferring to HDhat.com that you have a high speed connection
*Steeper learning curve than cameras like the Zi8 or Sony HX-1

Mark, I'm in the market for a stepup SLR and this was great information.  I love the Canon point and shoot that I currently own.  Thanks,

The Canon T2i in my opinion is the perfect DSLR for real estate agents who want a pro level camera for both video and photos with all the bells and whistles.

My recommended cameras at 3 different levels are:

  1. On a budget with simple operation and good quality? Kodak Zi8 a great camera to shoot your first videos after which you will realize you need a better camera for shooting in all situations :)
  2. HDhat's most recommended and used camera by both our Pros and Agents is the Sony HX-1....simple to operate....fantastic quality...great photos and video.  Sony HX-1 and Wide Angle Lens also see this video which details the Pano mode.
  3. Little bigger investment and steeper learning curve but if you are looking for feature rich....with loads of shooting options and lots of lens to choose from? The T2i is the camera that will fit you perfectly and it comes standard with a great 18mm lens Canon T2i

and lets not forget if you already own an Iphone 4 then you can easily add a wide angle lens to that and have a very respectable camera for both photos and video..... Iphone 4

Mark, Great introduction; File size when uploading is a factor to consider.
