3 Comments on Real estate news — San Diego County median home price for July 2010
In a way it's not surprising that you have absolutely zero comments on a positive post. People just don't like good news.
Great to see that prices are slowly but surely increasing over recent years. Sure took a dive in 2008, but they were probably artifically high to begin with due to easy credit.
Bryan - It's true. Good news just doesn't get the attention that bad news does, and I've never really understood that. I guess with the bad news people say, "I'm glad that didn't happen to me." but with the good news, well, if there is no bad news, it must be good news, so give us the bad news!
Eduardo - I think everything took a dive in 2008, some areas more than others, and some areas are coming back more rapidly than others. At the peak of the boom, prices were going up 30-40% annually, and even more in some areas. That type of appreciation can't possibly be sustained, and it wasn't. I'm hoping that we could have better appreciation than what the bank savings accounts pay us, but when you get to double-digit appreciation, bad things are bound to happen sooner or later.
