Marketing You- Your Personal Brochure part 2

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Property Experts

agent showing real estate to buyers
Last week a posted a blog about my personal real estate brochure. I'm getting a lot of questions, so I thought I'd elaborate a little bit more. This time, I'll address HOW I use my personal real estate brochure, in addition to more about what's in it. (Read the comments in my previous post, in addition to the post itself, to find out more about what's in the brochure)

So here are the ways I use my brochure.

  1. I mail it to expired listings, with a letter and a color flyer of one of my print ads.
  2. I randomly hand them out if I have one handy and real estate happens to enter the conversation.
  3. I include it in my listing presentation.
  4. I include it in my buyer presentation.

Click here to see my real estate buyer presentation. It's a folder with everything a buyer needs to get started. I give it to them and go over everything in it when I first meet with them.

The biggest advantage of giving my brochure to new buyers is that the brochure is full of personal information about me. It's a conversation piece. While we're driving between houses, my buyers will frequently start browsing through their folder and start reading my brochure. Many times they'll see something we have in common. They then ask me questions about it and volunteer some information about themselves. We now have a stronger connection.

For those of you who have commented that you're working on your personal real estate brochures, I look forward to seeing your post about them when they're finished.

Hey Lisa,  I have a personal brochure but I haven't printed it.  LOL.  They want $500 for it.  Woah.  I didn't realize what I was getting into.  You may have just encouraged me to print it.  :)

Lisa - great ideas for the PB - I add it to all my sellers packets and buyers packets.... I drop them off at companies getting ready to expand too.  I think the best place I have found to give my brochure at is in public  - it is large enough it does not go to the bottom of someone's purse.

Gary- With so many agents going after those expired listings, it's a great way to stand out from the crowd.

Stephanie- I made the mistake of paying a graphic designer to create one for me, thinking it would be better than the one I already had. $500 and many changes later, I still hated it. I never used it. I like mine better!

Thesa- Where do you carry them, to hand out in public? I can't figure out how to keep them from getting messed up. Bear in mind, with the Fibromyalga, I can't carry a large bag around either.

Great ideas, I love it when realtors share, we arent here to take one another's business just make the business a better one and help one another in the same profession. Always gets me when you have the agents that dont ever help.

Lisa...I keep coming back to your words. I keep staring at a blank sheet of paper with no idea what I want it to say...I know how I want it to look and I know that I want everyone to have it but I keep drawing a blank on how I want it start out and sound interesting and wanting the reader to learn more...I have made myself afraid of it sounding too much like a resume...and that is what I do not want it to sound like...I am sure the creative juices will start any minute now!

Misty- That's exactly what happened to me. Fortunately, a good friend of me wrote it for me. Once someone else got it going for me, I was able to tweak it. That was about 7 years ago. Now I've all but completely re-written it.

What a great idea, thank you for sharing it.

I have an 'art flyer' like you might get for an art show with a pic of my art on one side and my real estate info on the other.  I found it's easier to give people something pretty than just a regualr business card.

Plus, I have them at my art shows and don't feel so lame about shamelessly handing them out!!

I get them printed at Overnight Prints, I like this company and they have very reasonable prices and good quality!
