My Blackberry..It's what?

I have had my Blackberry Curve for almost 4 years. One day the little scrolling ball quit rolling.  I take it into my carrier's store to get the ball replaced.  I brace myself each time I go into one of the stores because the 20 something guy asking to help me asks me what kind of phone do I have now?  I take a deep breath and tell him. The usual reply Oh! we don't make that anymore" Eeeeeek!!

He wanted to sell me a new phone, to say the least, trying to convience me I need all the newest toys on it. I ask him "can I use it as a phone?"I got the little ball fixed for $15 at a cell phone fix- it -while- you- wait store.

One time the guy didn't even recognize my phone. Just try to get a battery, case or any other part if it's more than 6 months old. We go over to the rack of accessories and he says as he's handing me cases to look at "well, maybe this will fit" or he says "it's a ittle tight but it will stretch out". I polietly excuse myself and go to the phone accessories store where they are much more sympathic.

I have the Blackberry Bold and the same issue happened to me, but at least I was able to get a new phone.

Chris and Patty:

I went into the AT&T Store when my blackberry 8800 got scratched.  I was told I could up grade.  When the newer model was received in the mail, if was !/4 less the size, and I had to get a magnifying glass to type.  I sent it back and continue to use my scratched up model with big keys.

I also would rather used my scrached up model because the new Curve's key are tiny and close together. Hopefully Blackberry will have an Aha! moment and make the keys easier to text with, especially for the guys.

The newest Blackberry is coming out shortly. It will have a much bigger screen and a slide out, larger keyboard. Of course it will only be available on AT&T.
