Kathleen- Our summer has been so hot you can not get out and enjoy it.  I hate to see fall come some quick.  I would love to be walking on your beach, very inviting.

Diane, I agree even RI broke heat record highs of 3 digits for days in a row. You are absolutely correct in saying unless you are at the beach in the water or in a pool it it very difficult to work in the extreme heat.

Juli This is a very peaceful beach, no extreme crouwds and very relaxing after a stressful day.

Hi George,  Oakland Beach is a neighborhood located in the South Central area of Warwick, Rhode Island, on Greenwich Bay, a tributary of Narragansett Bay. This densely populated community of small cottages was developed after World War I as a summer colony, largely for nearby Providence's middle-class Irish, Greek and Italian communities, Now there are upscale year round homes.

Hi Steve, I love this place, not too crowded and very peaceful and beautiful. Lovely to capture sunsets.

Kathleen - Yes, the beautiful hues of an early evening dusk over the ocean are indicative that summer is coming to an end. The kids will be back to school soon enough, yes?

The days are getting shorter, and that means that Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are just around the corner.

WILLIAM: I love the image of a beautiful dusk as it appears over the glistening water. I do long for the longer days that is diminishing each day as the leaves begin already to change and the summer soon leaves us for FALL. The time to change the clocks back will soon be upon us , thus losing more of our precious daylight.

Hi Kathleen - I'm looking forward to fall in Florida. Less humidity, 80* and sunshine. I miss the autumn colors and the longer days.

John I love the fall in New England, the Autumn season before our dreary winter.  I just hate the shorter days especially when we turn the clocks back and lose another hour of daylight. So be it

Hi Kathleen.  That's another wonderful photo.  I visit Oakland Beach all of the time.  How was your summer?  I have a feeling rates may go even lower.

Mark, the summer went much too fast.  We had too many very hot humid days that were fabulous if you were on the water and not in the city. We regularly go to Oakland beach, as least once a week. Perhaps we will meet up some late afternoon at Iggys.

Do you really think we will see much lower rates? HOW LOW WILL THEY GO? incredible

We had the coldest summer since 1933, but now that the days are getting shorter, they also seem to be a little warmer. Amazing how global warming can play havoc with local weather patterns.
