Kalahari Water Park in Sandusky Ohio is simply a water park on steriods.
What a difference a generation makes (okay...maybe more than a generation). When I was a kid, we went north about 5 minutes to a little pond called Bluebell beach. Some basic sand, few ropes, and some squishy bottom sand with seaweed, and that was hog heaven for me.
Fast forward to 2010 in Sandusky Ohio and enter the Kalahari Water Park and watch the kids eyes when they see the options available to them, and you will leave with tired, exhausted, red-eyed, glassy-eyed, hungry and a bit ornery kids who will sleep all the way home (one of two ain't bad).
Anyway...check it out, looking for a short one-hour trip from Cleveland or Toledo, or two hours from Detroit, and you will land in an amazing place!
Just bring earplugs and the humidity gets a bit much if you aren't going in the water and aren't dressed down into just a bathing suit.
