Newbies- here are the answers to some of your most asked questions. I have included the links where you can find the tutorials in detail.

Question #1- How do you get colored text, different sized fonts on your blog?

Update: Since writing that post there is another great tool that has actually become my favorite Active Rain blog editor. It is using Gmail as an editor. With the Mac- you just drag and drop right from Gmail into your Active Rain WYSIWYG editor. You don't need to know html. It will cut your blogging time in half.

Question #2- How do you get your screenshots with arrows and...?

Update: With the Mac- you don't need anything except your keyboard to do great screen shots fast and super easy. Just click Shift, Command, 4- then drag your curser over the part of the screen you want to capture, release and there it is! You can then drag the screen shot into Pages or Keynote and use Inspector and the Tool Bar to add your arrows, etc. Again, our Macs increase productivity and save so much time.

Question #3- Where do you get those cool safe images to use on your blog?

Since I wrote this post the clip art site we use has increased to over 7 million images and added on all kinds of web graphics. Their 3D art is the best I have ever seen.

Brittany- Get a Mac and when you do buy their one year one on one program for only $99 for a year! It also includes workshops and group sessions as well as one on one coaching. I love it. Nestor and I hang out at our Apple store. That then led to Apple bus manager asking us to help them with their business networking meetings! Once you try mac, you never go back! There is a reason there as so many raving fans! Katerina

You don't need a mac to use any of the programs I did the tutorials on. I was just updating those posts in this post by trying to say that since I did get a mac, it has been even faster and easier and I do not now need all the programs I talk about in those posts.

But the point of the post, and I am sorry, I did not make it clear, must be tired... is to give you the links to the tutorials that I wrote in the past about those three questions.

Thanks! Katerina

Damon- YOu can do it on a windows pc too. It is just that the mac speeds up the process. But really, all you need is snagit which is like 40 bucks, one time, not recurring. Just more steps. But before I had my mac my posts still looked attractive:) Yours can too. But still, get a mac when you can:) Katerina

Excellent info, Katerina.

I don't use a Mac, so I do my editing in Blogjet (for color and font size), use Snagit for screen shots and editing, and iclipart.

Thanks so much for the info!  I purchased a new Mac last November right before I started real estate . . .I am finding it can do so many things that companies are trying to charge me for!  I have been struggling somewhat as our MLS was not Mac-compatible, but they are now working on the transition!  I volunteered to be a Beta tester . . . should be interesting! Please keep the Mac tips coming . . .subscribing to your blog so I can read them all!

Caterina, thank you for sharing! I am a PC's user and have been teaching computer applications for more than 10 years. You just answered some of the question I had. I used Microsoft Word to compose my blogs, but when copy and paste to AR it looks horrible after reading your post, I think I will try my Gmail as an editor. I am going to bookmark your post for future reference. Thanks

Mayra- Don't use Microsoft word for your blog editor. It has strange and clunky code when you transfer over. That also does not help you in the search engines. Katerina

Katerina, tried gmail as my blog editor and lost all my text colors and sizing when dragging to the AR WYSIWYG editor.

Could that be because I'm using a PC vs. a MAC? Kent

Wow...cool, trick with Gmail.  So you just copy what you've written/composed in Gmail and paste it over to AR?

Kent- Strange- I know that Brad Andersohn was the one that found out about this neat little short cut and he uses a mac- but I think that on his post- there were lots of people who tried it on their pcs.

You do have to be in Firefox. Try that. Open up Firefox, two windows- then use copy and paste, not drag. Only the Macs have the true drag and drop feature that keeps everything, as far as I know, however, I have not tried any of the new windows OS.

Justin- On a Mac, I just drag and drop. I did hear somewhere that the new windows OS has a drag and drop feature- But I don't know if it keeps all the details in the process.

You can just use copy and paste though.

Katerina, took a while before I could retest this using gmail as html editor on my PC and using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer as my browser.  Still didn't work.

I'm not going to run out and by a Mac just to do some html editing.  Guess my next step is to find a good free/cheap html editor!  Any suggestions?
