Louisiana native Papillon, a noted musician and storyteller, serves up a tasty musical Cajun gumbo with friendly warmth and toe-tapping, authentic rhythms. "Let's Go! Fais Do Do!," "Jambalaya," "Shuga Bee," "Zydeco Dancing" are a few of the many effervescent songs. Papillon (his "grand-père" gave him the name, meaning "Butterfly," when he was a boy) weaves them together with explanations of Cajun traditions and of the French words that he uses and with warm reminiscences from childhood. The exuberant instrumentals, played on fiddles, spoons, drums, guitar, Zydeco and Cajun accordions, the rubboard and other instruments, are an invitation to frolic, making it a challenge to sit still. A 1998 Parents' Choice® Silver Honor.
