This weekend there will be a celebration of  the history of forests with forestry tours, educational opportunities and demonstrations at the World of Wood Festival  which will take place at Silver Lake Park in Maple Falls August 25-26, 2007.

The festival is put on by Black Mountain Forestry Center, who's mission is to "To promote awareness and provide education for the general public about our forests, their history, ecology, and value as a renewable natural resource." There will be woodcarvers at work, a 5k fun run an walk as well as other activities to enjoy.
