Call Phones from Gmail - Now We're Talking!

This is great news folks. The "Inside of the Internet World" just keeps on pushing and reaching out to connect with the "Outside World" and today, there's a new break-through demonstrating this very point.  Call phones from Gmail, I'm doing it right now as I write this. Anyone care to guess who I'm talking to?  Maybe some bonus points? haha, just kidding... the real point is that Gmail users (and those who will become Gmail users now) will love and benefit from this great new feature.

Who ever thought we'd be "calling" someone from our "Email" box.  Cool~

Every time those Google folks generate a new product, I say "What will they think of next?" I am continually surprised.

Brad, I too LOVE this new feature. I used it all day yesterday and had ZERO issues with it. I may actually be able to reduce the minutes on my cell phone. I pay about $350 a month for cell service. I don't have a land land. I can see a substantial savings in my near future.

Oh my gosh...this is really really cool!  You know how tech challenged I am and this seems easy for me, lol.   When I was at Inman I drove around Googleville.  I couldn't believe how BIG they are.  Talk about sprawl.  Wow!  They even have Google colored bikes for employees to ride around Googleville in, Goggle colored umbrellas in their patio areas and so much more.  Google is simply incredible.

If I haven't told you in a while, I think the world of you, FYI :)  I hope you are doing well and I missed seeing you at Raincamp :(   You are the "dude" for sure!

Maybe I should start a Brad Andersohn fan club?

Brad - I tried this yestday, and it worked great. The only thing that might confuse people Is the area code. I wonder how the government will find a way to tax this.

This is something different, but I wonder at the practical applications as more and more people have cell phones.

Brad, BB is definitely on to something. Our cell phone bills run over $350 as well. We ditched our land line years ago - now have Magic Jack for a 'home phone' in case we want to send a fax. $20 a year ($40 first year because you have to buy the device).

The only reason I still have a land line in my home office is because AT&T requires us to for our TV and Internet service, otherwise I'd do away with it as well.  I am finding this new feature easy, convenient, and very inexpensive to use.  Pennys saved each day is dollars saved over time, that's just a good business decision. :-)
