More Wednesday thoughts, and another Green Article......

At one point last week, Friday, I think, I wrote my 1000th blog here on Active Rain.  That seems like a lot, but to me, it really didn't, until I go through a little writers block anyway.  I was going over my notes from ReBar Camp Phoenix from last April, one of the classes was one on using outside articles as a component of your blog.  I have been trying to do just that.  I read the newspapers, I would say local, but mostly I read the ones from Salt Lake City, I also look on the internet, I will admit, I don't put as much weight on most of the internet "news" articles.

Anyway, I have been using a lot of articles in my blogs the past few weeks.  I don't pretend to be the most eloquent writer around, so every little bit helps.  I came across this article in The Deseret News, which they picked up from another news outlet, anyway it talks about things that renters can do to be more "green" while renting.  I would caution everyone to check with their landlord on any questionable ideas, make sure that the landlord is okay with your plans.  Here is the link to the article:

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700059681/Renters-can-do-plenty-to-make-their-homes-more-eco-friendly.html

I hope that this is something that those renters who read our blog can utilize this.

I've had writers block oh AND the new computer nervous breakdown disease.  I HATE windows 7, hate it, hate it hate it hate it.

So thanks for the idea of using an article.  I might need to do that to get me through the "transition of change" from XP to 7.  Did I mention I hate it?

Tony, A great reminder that there is just so much information out there if one does get writer's block.  And a great choice for an article.  Everyone has the power to make a difference on their footprint in this world.  Good pointers.

Congrats on your milestone!

You have woods where you live?  :)

Tammy, I am still living in the XP world, so I will most likely go through the hate process at some time!  It really has caused me to look through the news and find things that I think will make good blog stuff.

Gloria, Like I wrote to Tammy, it does help, and I find that by reading more, I am finding more to write about, even if it isn't just leading into putting a link on my blog. It does help.

Tony & Darcy, well, I'm probably a little way from writers block as I only have about 20% of the post that you've written...my desktop is XP and labtop is Vista and I get along with both of them...each has their advantages...by the way I get the impression that Tammy isn't real fond of Windows 7.

Nick, you're probably more creative to begin with than I am as well!  I sort of get the sense that Tammy really isn't a fan of Windows 7.  I am sure that she will either get used to it, or will break her computer with a hammer in frustration.

My properties in Texas are pretty green. I had tankless water heaters installed and light fixtures that are meant to be used for CFLs, which typically stick out further than incandescent bulbs. Low-flow toilets and shower heads, etc., etc., etc.
