I had a new experience with one of my listings in Killingly, CT. During the buyer's home inspection Bat droppings were discovered in the attic of the home. Understandably the buyer requested these furry little squatters be evicted prior to closing.
My clients were informed of the request and went on a quick search to find a licensed professional who would extricate the critters in a humane manner, (BIG time animal lovers).
I thought this was going to be quite the process and never expected to have the issue resolved in such a prompt manner.
Dave from H.A.R.T. (Humane Animal Rescue Team) of Woodstock CT was contacted on Monday afternoon. He was available to investigate the situation the next day. He was prompt and knowledgeable. He told us it would cost $95 for the quote but if they used him to do the job it would be applied toward the total cost.
The client was quoted at $595 for the job. (Price is determined by square footage of home) This entailed extrication of the bats, hazardous waste clean-up, sealing off all potential entryways into the home (apparently it only takes about a 1/4" for them to enter) and a 2 year warranty against future infestation.
Dave was hired to do the job and returned the next day bright and early. We found out that Dave is a man of many talents. He is also a licensed plumber (amongst many other things), he helped us out with a few other minor plumbing issues while he was there for NO extra charge!
It's so nice to know there are still quality people out there who understand that sometimes just doing what is right will pay more money in the long run than trying to snatch that quick buck. My payback to him for doing a great job for my client is posting my positive experience about him and his company. I hope someone will read this and consider calling him if they or someone they know need this type of service.
I highly recommend H.A.R.T. if you are ever looking to get rid of unwanted critters! Dave's website is http://www.humaneanimalremovalteam.com.
