This is the tenth in a series. If you haven’t been keeping up, you can go back and read my first post about Gardening Between Denver and Boulder, and from there go to the second, third, etc. If you are a Colorado gardener, especially in the area between Denver and Boulder, I’d love to hear about your favorite plants.

August 23 - the late summer bloomers are coming into season now. This is tiger lily. I like them because they have such personality!

August 24 - I have a re-blooming lilac, just getting back into boom. What do you think about that?

August 26 - agastache. Dainty blossoms dancing on every breeze, beloved by bees and butterflies, and an intoxicating scent. Be careful where you plant it - it's in the mint family so will spread.

Nice pics...I am glad you were not in the area of the fires... Does your lilac always rebloom?

It does - it's a new variety.  I've got another one ordered that should be arriving soon. It is a pretty sparse bloom, and a small plant. It's just such a kick to get lilacs late in the year.
