This week's headliner is the Carolina Chocolate Drops. I heard a pretty extensive interview with them on NPR a couple of months ago so I was pretty jazzed to see their name come up as this week's act.
The music that's mostly strongly identified with Appalachia seems to be the preserve of white folks (Deliverance anyone?) even thought it's actually not, so it's nice to hear an African American interpretation.
