Butterflies send my spirits soaring!

   Butterflies, one of nature's most lovely creatures, can send my spirits soaring with just a quick flap of their wings.  Whenever I travel if there is a butterfly exhibit anywhere nearby, I make a concerted effort to visit the facility.

   Recently, I visited Brookgreen Gardens just north of Pawley's Island, South Carolina. On these beautiful grounds was a Butterfly House filled with many varieties of these colorful, winged creatures.

And then Murphy's law kicked in and my camera battery died.  I guess I will just have to revisit next year.

Beautiful pictures. I happen to be reading your blog as my youngest daughters were playing near the computer. They saw the butterflies and demanded to see more pictures! :)

What a gorgeous shot or should I say gorgeous shots!  We love butterflies also!  The last year we lived in Napa, the monarchs' migration path was right through our deck and we had what seemed like streams of butterflies passing by us.  It was an amazing sight to behold for days.  Have a great weekend.

Jason, I am so glad your daughters liked the photos. I posted some from my trip to Arizona earlier this year. If you can't find them, send me your email and I will send them to you.

Ron and Alexandria - You are so fortunate to have experienced  the Monarch's migration! I would have used up my camera battery by taking hundreds of photos.

Nice pictures Emelyn!  I hate that dead battery at the wrong moment thing.  I had it to happen when I was in the middle of a deer herd.  I was thinking I was going to need "primal scream therapy" after that.

TIP:  I bought an extra battery for both of my digital cameras and keep them tucked away in the camera case.
