I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do
The something that I can do. ~Edward Everett Hale

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.~Mary Kay Ash

CARDS

-Thank You cards should never be forgotten.   Be very diligent about this.  Send a Thank You to the guy at the car wash who did such a wonderful job detailing it. Send a Thank You to your beautician after your new do. Send a Thank You to the lenders, EO, inspector, appraiser. Most importantly send a Thank You to your client.  When you eat out, leave a Thank You with your business card.   Every Thank You should include your business card.

-Birthday cards.  Send them to everybody in your SOI.  The first time you meet your clients, make sure you get their Birthday’s to add to your database.  Of course, put your business card inside.

-Anniversary cards.  Put the closing date of each client in your database and send them an anniversary card.

-Holiday cards.  Make sure you get these out as well.

CONSCIENCE motivation deriving logically from ethical or moral principles that govern a person's thoughts and actions.  DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!

C’s  don’t forget to check out Mariana Wagner’s post for an Alphabet for Localism http://activerain.com/blogsview/166775/An-Alphabet-of-Localism

CHANGE Maybe it’s time for a change.  If it’s not working and you keep getting the same result, change what you’re doing.  Use a different script, get out there and door knock,  pick a different farm area.

CALLS-Keep up on your calls daily.  Make it a positive.  A lot of people dread the idea of calling people, but if you put a twist to it, you’ll make it more exciting.  Provide the homeowner on the other end with some useful information. Try the alphabet phone system for your  SOI.  Start  with A's on Monday and work you way through  to Z in 26 working days.  That way you will have contact often and they'll never forget you're in real estate.

CHECKLIST  I’m a bit OCD on my files.  I have a checklist for everything.  You’ll never miss a beat if you just give it a try.

CHARITY  This is the good stuff that you need just to keep your heart completely full.  There are so many opportunities:

  -Blood Drives http://www.redcross.org/

  -Food Drives

  -American Cancer Society  http://www.cancer.org/docroot/home/index.asp

  -American Heart Association http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=1200000

  -American Diabetes Association http://www.diabetes.org/home.jsp

There are so many opportunities available to help.  Pick one and  put your heart into it.

CALENDAR put all your appointments in your calendars. Your outlook, phone, Dayplanner.  Try Google Calendar

COMMUNICATION keep in contact with your buyers, seller, lenders, title, inspectors. Return your phone calls, respond to your emails. Be at the front line.  That gives you value to your clients.

CHALLENGE yourself in your personal and business life.  It keeps the spark going.  Take a new class, get involved with the community, run an extra mile, climb a bigger hill, whatever it may be that challenges you DO  IT!

Julie....shame on me...I've been missing my ABC's.....

Here is one of my most favorite committment statements I have EVER heard. I lost my long time companion, my Greyhound, Nero back in January. My world truly DID revolve around him...how long I would stay at the office, how long I could stay out at night, how long I wanted to be away from him. His expressions when I would return home are worth a 1000 words...but in preparing a "memorial" to him, I ran across this statement which truly says it all......

"Lord, Help Me Be The Person My Dog Thinks I Am."

Margaret-Oh you are so sweet.  Thank you for that fabulous compliment.  That means a lot to me.  We all work hard on our blogs and some just don't get noticed. I thank you for taking the time to read mine.  I can't wait to hang out in your sandbox.

Thom-I'm so sorry for your loss.  Our pets are such an important part of our lives and when we lose them, it's truly the feeling of losing a member of our family, because simply said, they are.  Nero will be waiting for you many years from now to join him in more companionship.  I love that statement too. And I'm glad you're here for the ABC's.
