The Ultimate traffic jam.

Living here in Grand Rapids I sometimes complain about having to wait about 10-15 minutes in a traffic jam. I’ve been to Chicago Illinois and have been in a complete standstill on the Dan Ryan Expressway (turned the car off and had lunch), been in traffic jams in and around the Detroit area and was born in New York (and for some folks you know how it is there).

Nothing can compare to the traffic jam that lasted 9 days in China. Yes you heard it right 9 days. Who in their right mind would want to be stuck in a car for that long? When I first read the article I could not believe it. I would be beside myself. And next time you grumble and complain about being 20 minutes late because you’re stuck in traffic remember your neighbors in the Far East.

When I saw that on the news I just stood there with my jaw dropped for a full minute. From time to time I go to Atlanta (about an hour from my home) and I hate the traffic... I always feel as though I've been beat up after driving in stop and go traffic jams and they only last a few minutes.

You have to wonder how many fights broke out? how many cars over heated?

I'm staying out of China I think.

Robert.....I think we all complain about being stuck in traffic, but now all we have to do is think of the China 9 day jam and maybe feel abit less angry. I can't imagine being stuck for 9 days!

And over sixty miles long! When I graduated from Texas A&M and moved to Houston, I found the traffic intolerable, but since I had to drive in it each day, I simply put a cassette player in my car and sang along with The Beatles, The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, etc. By the time I moved out of Houston five years later, I had the world's largest music collection and knew every song by heart. LOL

Robert, I did hear a little about this story. I heard they were told by officials to go home and they would be notified when to come move their car. As a person who only has to deal with 10 - 15 minutes of travel on a typical day and "traffic" is 30 - 45 minutes, I guess I should count my blessings. Much success to you...

Robert ~ I hate traffic! It makes me so nervous now when I go to Atlanta or any other area with that many cars. I used to live in Miami for a short time and in no time at all I was driving just like them. I have NO complaints where I live now.
