Good News! Countrywide / Bank of America vs. Montage of Morbid Mortgage Monikers

Troubled mega lender Countrywide Home Loans has received a vote of confidence Wednesday.

Bank of America has invested Two Billion Dollars in convertible preferred securities of Countrywide Financial.

This could help CW weather the storm currently raging in the mortgage industry.

This move coupled with the reduction in the discount rate has sent a reassuring ripple of relief into an otherwise

bleak Montage of Morbid Mortgage Monikers.

I hope that this is enough to calm the fears of the market, somehow I don't think that it will be though.  I don't think that the market will calm down until the foreclosure cloud is lifted.  Countrywide might do okay, but what about all the people still between the rock and the hard space?

Bob, I agree... we have a long way to go.  Many of these announcements end up in closings, it's nice to see that CW at least will not go down without a fight.

posting  a $422 million 4th quater loss is quite a surprise for CW...  BOA still gets a good deal.

Yes, that hurts a little!  CW jumped in head first in the past build up and they are paying the price now.
