Parkdalians must love coffee! I have noticed recently in the past few months there has been a bevy of coffee shops opening up along Queen St. West. When I first moved here there was only one decent place to have coffee.

My favourite is the newest addition, The Mascot, located at 1267 Queen St. West. in Toronto.  I recently met the owners 3 young entrepreneurs with a vision of their version of a neighbourhood coffee shop. I like it!

The reason it is my favourite, a good selection of coffees, this place is also an art gallery with changing displays of art.  Its big and quiet with huge windows overlooking Queen St. West.

There is a big comfy antique couch, if you are lucky enough to get a seat,  a wonderful spot to enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by on Queen. If you don't know Queen St. West is a great street to people watch.

Sometimes I take my computer and work for a bit there, a nice way to break up the day.
