I'm in Dallas this weekend visiting my parents and friends.  My mom lives in Carrollton, TX in a community called The Homestead. We got a nice treat this morning...

We were serenaded by the Hebron High School March Band! They marched through the entire community playing lots of fun and energetic music. Many neighbors were out watching, and many of the parents walked along with them to watch the entire thing.

Here are some pictures of the color guard, woodwinds, drum line, and brass...

Donna, marching bands are just wonderful things!  I hate to see so many schools cutting out music, because it teaches children so much about team work and getting up in front of crowds and playing in tune!

Hi Donna - I love parades and marching bands as well. These young musicians have talent.

Pat, I was in band and color guard and loved it. My "band" friends are the reason I'm in Dallas this weekend for a "surprise" baby shower. There are life-long friendships that are made through organizations like band.

Sharon, And it's great that they can get out past just the football games. They march through the neighborhood at least 3 times a year.  We never did that when I was in band... many moons ago...

My friend Collette is holding an estate sale in the subdivision this weekend.  I hope the parade helped her sale.

Lorrie, Yes, the house is right behind my mom's. We stopped by. They had some interesting pricing on things, to say the least, but it was pretty packed.

Steve, It's definitely changed over the years...

Karen, Lots of people cheering them on.

Bob, I've been booked, but definitely next time!

Looks like a fun event.  Lucky it is not as hot as the last couple of weeks.
