Could You Move Please, I Am Trying To Watch The Movie, Hear The Conversation, Etc.

You know the feeling when someone stands in front of a television screen during the best part of a movie and starts yak yak yak about this or that?

pig smiling teeth You bob, weave, dip, stand up, lean to see around them. You try to turn up the sound on the movie, and tune down the person that is chatty cathy and ignoring your one word reminders about "dialog".

The same situation happens with real estate brokers, agents, REALTORS who hog the social media spotlight. That stand too close, appear too often and "fill the lens" so nothing behind it like the real estate property listing, or the local community shows thru. Or even around the edges. What is really important, what the buyer and sell want should be allowed to stand alone. To bask in the sunlight, feel the sunshine so to speak.

Less agent, real estate broker, REALTOR should be like fixing a plate to eat. The bigger tray compartment should be filled, reserved for extra helpings of property.

Lots of images, real full motion video, helpful blog post copy and loaded with link seasoning sprinkled liberally. Second and third helping size proportions.

The next largest tray compartment, space should be the local community the property listing is in. Because the buyer is not just local and may know diddly, or very little about the local community the property listing is in. And the smallest space on that cafeteria tray can be more property or community or a little no thank you helping of broker, agent, REALTOR.

Ever open the local newspaper to the real estate section and see all that space used for the same say cheese image of real estate industry professionals? Study the tag lines about why a real estate buyer or seller should pick this guy. That gal to do one of the most important jobs most people on the planet could monkey smilingneed help with.

Not quite up there with the importance of a heart transplant doctor or defense on a murder charge or other felony case by a cracker jack attorney.

But still pretty important.  Many of those agents, brokers, REALTORS look like deer in the head lights. With lock jaw from tetanus or stage fright. Or bloated ego. Clenched jaw, smiles that don't look real and slightly awkward. But all herded in with the same Jack Horner, look at me fashion. With the tune "everybody's doing it, doing it" in playing in the background right on cue.

Less real estate broker, more property listing cow bell, more jingle, razzle dazzle and wolf whistles, promotion about the area, the local communities.

Ssshhh, could you move so we can watch the property movies, videos, details now showing?

To learn about the local communities now playing on that monitor, lap top, droid.   Maine, big, beautiful, wide open and unspoiled with low low real estate prices scattered all over the place. That's the movie, video folks want to see, listen to, learn about. And don't waste their time about you, you, you in the delivery presentation please.

Let the properties, the local  town or city events show through loud and clear, long and strong for all to see, hear about. To remember that, not how annoying or in your face on The Face the agent, broker, REALTOR is. You the real estate professional are not running for public office. But your property and area the listing is in are deserving more attention, use of the airwaves to make a postive impression. Needing more exposure but can not truely shine brightly with you hogging the mic, stealing the photo show, tying up those airwaves, blogs, ads, videos. I'm just saying with all due respect. Why don't you get some air, take a break and pull back so the property, area information can breath, stretch its listing legs and take a turn strutting for that same camera lens and microphone.

Hogging the spotlight Missy. Those kind of cooks in the kitchen just delay the delivery, rob the flavor of the food. We have to remember the guy from city who is desperately trying to put their not so special home town over grown with crime, high cost of living, traffic in the rear view mirror of their car. That's who we have to help, feed, guide.
