While you may feel your pet is part of the family, someone looking to buy your home may not feel the same way.

Home buyers are looking for a emotional connection points to your home ......this will not happen when the home is run by dogs!

How many do you see in this picture??

What happens or how do you handle a situation when you step into a home and it appears to be an animal reserve. A dog(s) occupied home may only sell to dog lovers...if you don't make every effort to conceal evidence of the home is being occupied by one or more dogs...

First impression - it smells like dog (not good) - I suggest that the home begins with a thorough cleaning.  All of the dog beds need to be replaced with new clean beds which will help eliminate some of the order.  Using a product such as pure -ayre   http://www.pureayre.com.  Beds should be covered which can be removed when there is a home showing reveling a clean odor free bed.  Replace carpets that may be stained by your pet.

Remove Clutter - a decorative covered container is recommended to hide all the chew toys, balls etc. Another container s should be purchase to hid dog bowls and food.

Remove all of the frame pictures of Molly and Bailey

Make sure the dog(s) are not present in the home during showings

Vacuum daily - Please make sure if you have a vacuum cleaner with a  bag system; make sure that you place a new bag in before vacuuming otherwise the hair fill bag will permeate  the room with stale dog hair smell

The Yard....make sure the yard if free of dog droppings...  Brown spots on the lawn should be replaced with pieces of sod, or plant some quick grow seed.

Ultimately, most Staging professionals will recommend that pets are boarded with friends or family until the home is sold.  In short, you want to eliminate all signs that a pet was living in the home.

I'm an animal lover, but I totally agree with the smell thing.....it's a total turn off!  So clean up the smell and take the pet temporairly away when showing.

Thank for a great post, the owners love their animals and do not understand why other people do not.  This is good advice.
