Quite the transformation! Funny how we live with things for so long until it is time to move, then someone comes in and we wish we had called them sooner. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to hire a professional stager right after you move into a place as well instead of waiting until it is time to go.
Hey, Kristen,
I used to live in Boothbay Harbor, Maine . . . another beautiful place (OK, a lot prettier than Northern NJ, no offense to other New Jerseyans). I graduated from U of Maine at Orono way back when. I won't say exactly when!
I forgot to mention we used almost all of the homeowner's OWN things . . . other than some plants, trees, artwork, and a few other accessories. She was thrilled that I didn't tell her she had to go out and buy anything. (The only time I've suggested that is when clients need new rugs or bedding, or I will shop for them.)
And you're saying exactly what some of my clients have asked me: If I can come in and help them set up their new homes. I hadn't really thought about it, but since I'm getting asked, it's a business opportunity I want to start taking advantage of. A fresh pair of eyes makes such a difference when you're used to your own stuff for so long. I need a stager for MY house when I move!
Cool! Time to come back home?
It sounds like a great business proposition, maybe you could call it "move in staging."
