Preparing the Front of Your Home For Sale

You have heard that the first impression is the most important impression? It is absolutely true! I have been out with clients ,showing them homes , which we scheduled from viewing pictures on the computer. Pictures can be deceiving though.  When we got to a particular home they didn't even want to go in.....the first impression was not good !

If you are considering putting your home on the market make the first impression a good one!

Entice the buyer to want to see more of your home!

These are a few things that are  easy  and affordable to do:

  • Plant colorful flowers near the front door or in pots
  • Clean all the windows
  • Brush all cobwebs off Go to fullsize image
  • Add fresh mulch in front
  • Mow and edge
  • Paint the front door
  • Add new hardware to front door
  • Hang a flag
  • Put up a new mailbox
  • Put new shiny house numbers on
  • Pull all weeds
  • Paint any chipped wood or siding
  • Glass doors must be shiny
  • Place an air freshener by the front door.

Buyers buy by sight and smell so take a few days to prepare your, home making buyers hungry for more!

Good list for home sellers. These may be some of the most economical and most effective marketing steps.  And, do not fail to trim the shrubbery.

 Blooming for home buyers.

Curb appeal is crucial Tracy, many times buyers will not even go into a home they've scheduled to see if the exterior looks bad and in other cases, some buyers will drive thru neighborhoods and call an agent from their car to see a home that appeals to them from the outside.  It really is the first impression in person!
