OK, you win the prize for the best analogy of the day!
Phone tag memories don't linger like manure tag memories do.
Too funny!
Cynthia, I remember fire-crackers on the farm too. We used to drop a lit cherry bomb inside a 40 quart milk can and watch the lid get blown 40 feet in the air.
Cynthia, I bet you and your brothers still get a huge laugh and feel-good when you remember those times.
Nothing like growing up on the farm, that was too funny though, thanks for sharring, kind of makes a blah Tuesday fun again! lol.
Liz and Bill - by bad you mean good, right?
Maureen - pastel sneakers???
Craig - do I get any points?
Charles - ooh, you just reminded me of a milk incident ... more to follow! What is it about farms and explosives?
Mary Kay - oh, yes we have a good time talking about those bad days :)
Travis - go away, blah Tuesday, go away!
It's a good thing your parents thought this was amusing. Otherwise, you would have been in a lot of trouble. It's always fun to look back on happy childhood memories.
I bet a lot of your readers didn't know a black cat was a brand of fire cracker =) Makes for better reading the way you have it!
I'm glad Monday is over, aren't you Cynthia?
Paul
Shirley - I couldn't believe my parents were on the verge of busting their gut. I have a feeling they didn't care for our visitors much. Later on I found out I went to High School with the kid who sunk into the manure. oops. Sorry Wendell!!
Paul - I was wondering if someone would get my reference to "black cat". Leave it to you to figure that one out! Monday is GONE, out of my sight, BRING IT ON!
Cynthia......A very stinky funny story! I agree that today I too get to play alot of phone tag.
Donne - did that tickle your funny bone?
Carra - where I live, phone tag is common. We have a lot of blind spots where our cell phones won't ring. Our redwood trees are taller than cell phone towers :)
Cynthia one can never get bored from reading your blogs - lol. As a child we lived in the country for a while and it was great! Talk about creating your own fun!
The poor kid. I'll bet he never forgot the day he was up to his waist in.......
Even worst, as an adult I'll bet you've got some even better tricks up your sleeve.
Andi - we were always up to something, otherwise it would have been a very boring existence.
Charita - who, ME?
Cynthia, I'm a country girl too. Maybe that's why we "clicked". But I'm going to call you on this one. I don't think you feel bad about it at all. I think you still relish the thrill of that prank. Come on. Admit it!
I, however, still get sick to my stomach when I remember the time my brother and I sneaked into the tobacco barn loft, rolled some green (Yeah, now I know that's not good) tobacco in a piece of brown paper and smoked it. OMG, talk about sick.
My folks seemed to think we'd both come down with a stomach flu. Now I wonder. Did they know?
LOL - Marian you are the SECOND person who has called me a prankster today. I'm not sure what you are talking about! Oooh, green tobacco, that can't be good! Your parents probably smelled the smoke and laughed about it.
You are just too easy to peg. I knew something was coming.
LOL Charita, you make a pretty good target!
What a fun read after a long day of playing phone tag! heehehe It made me think of all the stuff my 5 brothers did - what a bunch of maniacs! I'm surprised they turned out as good as they did.
Hey this is funny. I have got 3 marketing broadcast calls from WA. They call everyday.....same time. I usually just hang up but today I tried to call them back (phone tag) and of course that doesn't work. So I just got the 3 calls again - and this time I listened to the message and they did have a 'remove' from call list button at the very end. Yeah - no more phone tag from these yahoos!
Anna Banana - 5 brothers, oh my! I only have three and that is enough. I didn't know there was a remove option at the end of those calls. Guess I'll have to listen all the way through next time. Thanks!
