I don't know about anyone else, but I've just about had enough of online tracking (voyeuristic or  self-controlled).  I don't want anybody to know where I am every minute of every day so I'm not really playing the "where am I now game"  by posting my location throuhout the day.  Please verify the validity of this post, adjust your settings as neccessary and determine if the facts for yourself before panicking.

Anyone can find out where you are when you are logged in.

It gives the actual address & map location of where you are as you use Facebook!! Make sure your kids know. TO UNDO: go to "Account", "Account Settings", "Notifications", then scroll ...down to "Places" and uncheck the 2 boxes.... Make sure to SAVE changes and re-post this.

Best I can tell this is a false rumor. Facebook requires that a user "check in" the same as one would check in with foursquare. In other words, no place tracking is done UNLESS the user intentionally does check in. Click this link for info direct from facebook. There are also a big alert box in facebook when you go to your privacy settings that there is a false rumor spreading as urban legends frequently do.

I have seen this posted too but read on FB where they say this is a scam and not true???  I have my settings on the most privacy possible.  Always good to check them occasionally.
