Sleep Patterns Of A Real Estate Broker....Is Eight Hours Laying Horizontal Too Much?

By

Eight hours a day spent sawing logs, sleeping to recharge and go get them the next day for a real estate broker, agent, REALTOR?

dog sleeping Is that just too much down time or with the pace you lead, it is critical for this many hours of ZZZZzzz's?

If your real estate operation is not run tightly, with tons of slack, loose ends and you are not up to speed with the daily developments, it is not just a question of quantity, but quality sleep.

If your day ended before it was truely done, that gap of what still needs to be done is hard to shrug off, and leave outside the bedroom door. It leaks, seeps under the door and hovers over that bed you plop in to get some shut eye. To study the backside of your eye lids and check out for a few hours. To like Elvis, leave the real estate building.

If you showed three homes, shot two videos and attended four real estate closings in your head over night, look back over yesterday. What steps were needless, repetitive, and if this, this and this had gone a little different, then you just freed up an hour and a half. Then if in the 90 minutes you got this, this and also that done so when you did lay down your noggin on the cushy pillow and pull the chain on that night stand lamp, maybe sleep would have been more oasis like.

Deeper, richer, fuller sleep. Less noisy or turbulent and in color, not black and white? What happens in your head over night?

More refreshing, restful. The average number of hours an Active Rain broker, agent, REALTOR devotes to sleep? Think it is over six hours? And making a list of tomorrow's mission may make your mind less apt to do all that reminder elbowing of yourself during the night to remember to do this, this and this.

Do you sleep on your back like Fido here? Stretched out in a California King or the top tier of a bunk bed?Start out in a recliner and graduate to the bed due to back problems? Take naps on a Sunday afternoon in a yard hammock or open front porch swing? What's the story with your sleep patterns? How do you fuel up for rest, sleep in your house? Do you take a "I'll sleep when I'm dead" kind of approach to the matter?

Maine, sleep easy here. Breath the fresh air, enjoy the bluer sky, more star filled nights.

I'm Maine REALTOR Andrew Mooers

Fido and I have a lot in common..."natural" blonds....amount of sleep....our feline friend Cosmo thinks that 6 hours is tops....for us...not for him...he goes back to his leisurely naps while we hit the Rain....enjoy !

Great post, wonderful image and perfect reminder of the magic of sleep. I log in around 6+ a night with a nap once a week inspired by my four of the floors.

It may depend if your mate snores...or if the cat(s) decide to set up a NASCAR race course with one of the sharp banked turns at warp speed your bed that gets hit hard and spun away from say, every twenty minutes. If you live where it is noisy, if it is humid and hot...all affect the sleep pattern, quality. Tired broker, agent, REALTOR makes for snappy, crappy or dopey day dreaming real estate day. Mattress hard as a rock, or do you get Dramamine to stay afloat on the water bed to arrive on dry land the next morning after a night with Marianne or Ginger?

Fido looks like he's definitely in dream land.  An evening wind down sipping coffee outside and enjoying the birds and critters while breathing that Maine air.  Always good for following Elvis' lead and leaving the real estate building.  If each day is filled with useful activities and I have done things to the best of my ability, sleep comes easy.

Ernie, We are all here to help each other keep paddling, rowing the real estate boat and to compare notes.

Kristen, FIDO having dog dreams, all played out. The days you sleep the best are the ones when you look back and without anyone telling you, praising you, you know I did the work of several agents and accomplished a ton. The days that goes a little harder, you dig in and reach deeper for more horsepower (or better coffee). Real estate brokers, agents are productive, hard working or they wash out. Not paid by the hour, but piecemeal.

Andrew,

Love that photo!  I tend to get 7 hours and usually add a couple extra one day during the weekend.

No time for naps for me.
